Ian Watts opened Colchester Haircutters in 1996, having previously been a partner in the highly successful John Oliver Group for 14 years and thereafter Formula for a further 3 years.

Ian has been hairdressing for 31 years and in that time has demonstrated in America, Switzerland, Spain, France and Ireland, as well as throughout the UK and London. He has also appeared on national television, local radio, in magazines and has produced teaching manuals, as well as doing many photo shoots.

Ian’s current ambitions however, focus very much upon providing an efficient and professional service in the salon, and giving an excellent haircut and colour in a friendly and un-intimidating environment.

Many of the clients of Colchester Haircutters comment upon the friendly atmosphere of the salon and say how much they like coming to have their hair done for this reason.

Ian is very aware of the importance of continuous professional development for the staff and himself. Everyone in the salon attends courses in London, has in salon training from Goldwell and attends national hair shows and seminars.
